Narragansett & Flying Point Oysters

Wednesday was Jim's birthday, so I treated him to appetizers and cocktails at Abacus (I will blog later about) and then dinner at McCormick & Schmick's. Dinner should have just remained at Abacus since M&S had no lobster that evening - very disappointing.

We had two new oysters that evening - Flying Point oysters and Narragansett oysters. The Narrangansett were wonderfully meaty with a full bodied, and seemingly brinier flavor while the Flying Point seemed to have a much lighter flavor and went well with vinegar.

We bought more Flying Point oysters today at Central Market that we plan to pair with one of our favorite white wines from Oregon - Sokol Blosser's Evolution. I had blogged about Evolution back in July (here) and still highly recommend it!
